stock internals on boosted d series?

ok , im making my own turbo kit with the help of a guy from the local tuner store who did his own gsr turbo , build and installed by him , anyways , will stock internals on a d series with the exceptions of maybe rods , handle the stock boost of a 14b (which ive heard is between 8-9psi)? correct me about any info if i am wrong because i am new to this world of forced inducion.

anyways yea im just curious about wether or nto stock internals will work on a boosted d series?
or would you suggest upgrading rods and other internals?
suggestions welcome , thanks

Re:stock internals on boosted d series?

There are lots of guys running 10 psi on totaly stock internals. My crx is one, but tuneing is eveything and it will work but most people will tell you its only a mater of time till she goes for one reason or another. May not be today may not be tommorow but your playing with fire. If you have the cash do pistons and rods, or boost now and get a spare engine to build as money permites. Welcome to HMT. ;) next time do some reserch most everything you need is here, spend a few hours looking around, enjoy.

Re:stock internals on boosted d series?

its weird how some of the guys can run 12-18 psi on stock internals and not blow up. Thats the kind of ---- that make me wonder if i can go higher than 10psi

there is a guy in utah named cody running 21 psi on a y7 block, it has pistons and rods, making 421whp.

best time to date is 11.8 or so

I know what you mean, some guys just beat the ---- out of their cars and it runs stronger then ever and some just blow there engines in days. I guess it's just the luck of the draw and good fuel management.

dude, beat that ---- til it dies, i run 11 psi daily on my b16 which has higher c/r, on just a base map and drive 100+ miles a day, you make the call how much your engine can handle.........
