stock internals

i was just wondering if anyone has ran a turbo on a d16z6 with stock internals.

if so how many pounds was the limit?

Re: stock internals

yes.
depends on the setup and fuel mgmt.

Re: stock internals

Yes, and there were limits.

Re: stock internals

from what ive read on multiple forums, 6-8 is what comes up the most. i know a guy on here that boosted a d16y7 at 10 lbs on stock internals. so i guess its all about the tune

so i guess you havent read much. Its more about how much power the little stock rods can take than boost...but they can take more than 6-8psi worth.

Re: stock internals

^^^he asked how many lbs is the limit, and i told him what i've seen a lot of people run. not saying its the most. also, i said it depends on the tune

Re: stock internals

230-240 is the limit on a perfect tune 12-13 psi

Re: stock internals

Would knock be an issue to retard/advance the timming or is that not much of a problem for those engines on a good tune?

14 psi on a 15g, lasted 6 months before freeing up #2 ringland.

i didn't dyno my crx yet, but i believe around 180-190hp @ 10psi. B16 and GSR suck ass

Re: stock internals

HP goal is what you should be looking for, not PSI. You can make X amount of HP with a small turbo and more PSI or X amount of HP with a large turbo and less PSI... But you already knew that right?

Re: stock internals

I dyno my bone stock d16z6 turbo on a dyno dynamics @ 235 whp/ 205 ft trq. This was done at 13 lbs wastegate spring and a t3/t4 50 trim .48 ar turbine. I will be heading back for a retune when I add a cam, valves springs, .63 ar turbine and bigger throttle body.
