Stock fuel pump for my set-up?

'95 Civic EX

I'm curious if anyone is running a stock fuel pump on their set-up. My initial set-up was a TD05-12a boosting 15 psi a few times until i installed an intake and exhaust, this backed it off to 8. At the time, i was simply running an FMU on a completely stock fuel system, the stock fuel pump seemed to supply it fine because it pulled hard, but i've no idea my air:fuel due to not having a wideband.

Now i've upgraded to a T3 Super 60 and DSM 440cc injectors chipped with an Uberdata base rom boosting 10psi. Is anyone running a similar set-up with a stock fuel pump without leaning out?

Edit: I've yet to drive the car with the new set-up. I let someone else do the chipping (i didn't trust my soldering) and i'm still waiting on it, as i wait, i figure if the stock fuel pump won't be sufficient, i can order what i'll need so it will be here when the car is ready to drive.

Everybody is running a stock fuel pump. Upgrading is just for your piece of mind. The stock one is working hard with your setup, but it is working, and that's what counts.

iv'e never really heard of anybody upgrading stock fuel pumps on turbo conversions. it is more common to need to replace the the fuel pump on nissan engines such as RB25DET and RB26DETT which fuel pumps max out easilly.

I run a 255 walbro. I installed it for piece of mind because my stock one had like 175k on it. I have the standard not the high pressure.

I run a walbro fuel pump with my setup. I love honda and all but with 440cc injectors and possibility of upping the boost later... why risk it? If you have the money upgrade it otherwise see what happens........................................... ............

Re:Stock fuel pump for my set-up?

if you are going to get one get the standard and no high pressure........I'm still running stock with about 150k :P

Re:Stock fuel pump for my set-up?

you dont reqiuire extra pressure of a walbro, your using the same pressure with a bigger injector, allyour doing is flowing more at the same pressur... ---- it, im keepin the sti\ocker cause it works, never had a problem... if itll take 16 psi with 550s and work mint, good enough for me

Re:Stock fuel pump for my set-up?

I've used both with boost. The Walbro was noisy. Other than that it's just piece of mind. If I were building a nice motor with forged internals I'd upgrade, but if I'm planning on shooting a rod out of the side of my stock D block I'll just use the stock pump because it's cheaper. :P

i'm running a walbro 255 just for peace of mind but from what i've heard i didn't need to upgrade the fuel pump. oem honda fuel pumps last a long time.

The 15psi was accidental, i only did it for a few seconds a few times until i got an intake and exhaust on it backing it to 8psi.

intake and exhaust don't adjust your boost level :scratches head:

maybe u just meant to say after u put those on u turned it down.. not it went down because of those

Run your turbo without an intake or exhaust connected, it will boost more.

My results:

Open turbo - 15psi
Cut up loose weave fabric until buying air cleaner -12psi
Air cleaner - 10psi
Air cleaner and exhaust - 8psi

Re:Stock fuel pump for my set-up?

do you have an internal wastegate? I guess it would make some sort of sense if you might peak more with less restriction...considering I know people with Interal gates taht when its cold they spike/peak higher boost levels...however...I havent seen my External leave the realm of 8psi on my 7.5psi spring. If its internaly gated...I guess I can see that being a possibility

Oh yeah, my Walbro 255 was free, I forgot to add that. Or else my ---- would be stock till the spring at least.

Re:Stock fuel pump for my set-up?

On a D will normal <12psi boost, the stock pump is ok.
I noticed on Steves (88dx) B16, T3, 450's and Uber, that his stock pump was dropping pressure up top while running 10-12psi. We were still able to get the fueling inline (no WB, but the plugs said so) with Uber pushing pretty high duty cycles up top. Same thing happened w/ my B16 on 450's, stock pump and 10-12psi. Sooo, D's are OK, B's need a pump after 12-14psi.
