I'm in So. Cal and my friends have ended up spending more for the Greddy after getting tickets with their original setup. (Usually a racing exhaust or universal muffler)
But the only ones that have been let go are the ones that keep the documentation in the car and have shown the police.

More explanation on California exhaust legality:

From my experience the Greddy SP is one of the quietest systems. Which model do you have?

MX. it has the bigger piping. It's also louder b/c of the gutted cat. I put in a normal one today and I can't even hear the exhaust.

yea i know...but i was too lazy to put in a real cat from the previous turbo set up. How thick is the stock piping in crx's?? According to mr corky bell, 2" will be enough for 200hp. I'm planning to be around there, so if the stock is about that, then stock, here I come!

ya just the cat would reduce the sound alot. JUst try putting a cat on there.

Those exhaust tickets are BS is u ask me. ANY sport bike or cruising bike like a harley has a WAY LOUDER exhaust. if I ever get pulled over for a loud exhaust violation im gunna be like "show me the decibal meter and I gladly pay"

stupid damn pigs. They always pick on the hondas. But some 40y/o jackass in a SUV thinkin he owns the road cuz his vehicle is big and speeds everywhere doesnt get bothered.

just get a highflow cat that will quiet it down (did on a dude i know's altima complete w/fartcan)

the turbo will make it quieter, my friend's 90 hatch with d16a6, 14b, 2.5" dp, no cat, 2.5" custom exhaust and flowmaster isn't loud at all. im gonna run the same setup on my rex.

That is freekin BS. Cops down here harass imports daily because they say it sounds like we are speeding.

We have 40y/o rednecks riding around in old school mustangs and camaros with open headers and slicks and cops don't tell them jack ****.

I love teasing them. They will race anyone. If you are in an import and you rev up to them then they will race you And they take everything soooo serious.

We have guys (older than teens) sitting on the lakefront (common meeting spot for car enthusiasts) and they park with the front of their car facing the street so if you happen to pass them and rev your engine they come flying out fish-tailing in the street like the "Forgot my Dew" mountain dew comercial. hahahahahahahahahah
