stock clutch + 5psi???

I'm getting ready to swap my auto over to manual. So I need to go ahead and address the clutch issue (if any)
I'm gonna be pushing about 5psi to be safe on a d16z6. Will my stock clutch hold up or will I have a lot of slippage?

It might hold fine, try it.

Mine held to 8 psi on a 48/60 turbo, d15b7

The stock clutch in my b7 held 12psi fine from a teo4h, from what I hear most people have problems with stock clutches around the 200-220whp range

while its out, toss a decent clutch in there in case you ever decide to make some more power

Re: stock clutch + 5psi???

Yea I'm going all out
XTR stage 3 clutch kit $148 shipped to my door.
And I have friends who have been running these for years now under boost and nitrous and still no problems.
So I know I'm getting a good deal here.

Re: stock clutch + 5psi???

yeah allright, as long as you know your getting a good stage 3 clutch for what a good stock replacement costs. XTR????? who the ---- is that? this is the device transfering all your power from your engine to your drivetrain. think about the stress its under. then spend 150 bucks on that part.

Re: stock clutch + 5psi???

Like is said I know several people who have been running this clutch kit under 10+ psi for years now. Not a single problem.

my 95 civic dx with 205k on stock clutch held 8 psi with a 50 trim for about a month before sliping everywhere.
