Starting DP fabrication this weekend any tips?
So Im going to start with the custom fabricaion of my 3in DP on my setup this weekend. I have 2 3in bends, Im not really wanting to pick up another one, if I could get by on 2 that would be great. My question is, do I just sort of eye it, hit it with the chop saw, test fit, then have it tack welded then test fit the other half, have it tacked then final test and weld? Is there anything else that I should know before diving into this? tia

Re:Starting DP fabrication this weekend any tips?
Well we are doing my 3" DP this weekend and Mahcivic's too. The way we do it is eye ball it and chop it. Then just tack and fit.

the hardest thing on a turbo kit is making a manifold collector without a 14" saw
everything else is easy breezy |
Re:Starting DP fabrication this weekend any tips?
guess I should join the club since I'm making my 3in downpipe this weekend as well. I"m using at 2.5"to 3" tran from atpturbo.com to make life more simplier.

My local exhaust shop made me a 3"to 2.5" tranistion for free to connect to the rest of my exhaust.

Re:Starting DP fabrication this weekend any tips?
you can cut little V's in the straight pipe 1/4 to 1/2 way through to make your bend and weld it back up. don't need to buy any bends.

measure twice, cut once. Or in this case, eyeball it twice, cut once. ;)
