Stackable headgaskets
Im running a stock block d15b2 at the moment, Im thinking about using the MR.gasket stackbale headgasket. I want to use the 1.5mm gasket which lowers comp. to 8.97..12 lbs safe tuned with TE?
I kno im a pain in the ass ;D thanks pat |
Re:Stackable headgaskets
Using a nice head gasket doesnt make up for the stock internals... rings dont last forever, ya know?

Re:Stackable headgaskets
cometic makes thicker than stock head gaskets...its 3 layer

Re:Stackable headgaskets
pistons are just as brittle though...which would seem to be what he is worried about if he is going for a thicker headgasket. lowering the likelyhood of braking a piston not a rod...

Re:Stackable headgaskets
My point was, dont give the guy an idea to run 15psi on stock D-series rods.
I dont even think your setup would last on 15psi |
Re:Stackable headgaskets
Don't worry i kno i cant run 15psi lol
I kno a pretty good amount about building engines and setups, i was just looking for a way to give a lil more leeway. But owell ---- it, 12psi on stock engine here i come :P Im gonna try and use the megasquirt DIY ecu, think ill be ok? |

Re:Stackable headgaskets
Who the hell was that numbnu7s guy???
Anyways, I'm running 11psi non intercooled on my Civic with a 2mm head gasket. I personally don't like the really low compression but it definitly makes the motor alot safer/less powerful |
Re:Stackable headgaskets
the only reason im considering it is becuz i kno the a6 has ~9:1 comp stock, the dx motor has ~9.6:1 stock so i was thinking about dropping it just a lil but not so much it hinders performance.

Re:Stackable headgaskets
I run 11.4 c/r... do you see my ass puckering?
::runs to the corner:: ;) |
Re:Stackable headgaskets
Un-mini-me !!! Z6 block+A6 head = 8.4/1 compression I get 10psi by 2500rpms with a wrx turbo...
At least 5-6months and no problems... I think unless you have hondata or stand-alone and dyno tuning, anything over 9.5/1 is too much for a daily street driver running 10+psi... Hell mine has seen 16 psi a few time, and ran fine, but the clutch didn't like it too much, hehe. |
