Sr20DET
i have a 1991 Nissan Sentra XE. I was wondering how much a Sr20DET would run about and where i could find one. My one friend told me to swap that into my car but i have no idea where to look for one at. i also would need a 5 speed manual swap for my car since its automatic. Also if you know anything that can help me with my car fell free to tell me thanks alot

Re: Sr20DET
You'll need a bluebird motor. Call Venus Auto or Jarco for some pricing.
You could just get an SR20 out of an SE-R and boost it. |
Re: Sr20DET
Ok thanks. This is my first car and project, it's probally gonna take me awile to get this car done. and what year SR20 engines would fit into my car? just the 1991 model? or what max liter will fit. sorry im real new on this stuff

Re: Sr20DET
hit up www.nicoclub.com for exactly what will fit and what won't. I don't know much about the FWD SR's. good luck

Re: Sr20DET
where you located? Also you'll need the sr20 wiring harness also. Your in for quite abit of work using a non sr equiped and auto setup. Best suggestion would to check out sr20forum.com and they could help you out more. Like slos13 said is to just get a bluebird DET would be your cheapest route but if you got some cash then just go for the glory and get a RNN14 Nissan Pulsar GTIR SR20DET. I paid 2700 shipped from my GTIR front clip and got some extras like Nismo shocks and a ARC TMIC and some other little extras. Check out http://stores.ebay.com/RS-Imports-Ja...eNameZl2QQtZkm
That was were I bought my GTIR clip from and also bought a set of Tein HR coilover from my old B13 too for really cheap. He doesn't have much listed but just email Ryan and tell him what you need. I don't think they have a website but there located in Bellingham WA if your somewhat local. Otherwise check out SOKO.com and give them a call cause they have really cheap prices and have warehouses in CA and in IL. I recently bought a D15b for my hatch and they have a really nice shop and were really helpful. Good luck |

Re: Sr20DET
turbo your ga16de lazy b*stard - this is homemadeturbo
joking i have a ga - turboing them makes good power - but if u wanna convert - go ahead |
Re: Sr20DET
Im gonna do the swap and turbo the Sr20 engine which has around 140hp stock which is a better base Hp than 110. I was told to Turbo the ga16. If it comes down to it cause of money i might just have to. But id rather have the Sr20 to turbo than the ga16.

Re: Sr20DET
Yup just like Izzie said. It actually has stock forged internals. Low CR pistons(8.3:1) different turbo, different exhaust manifold than the stock sr20det manifold. You should buy a new tranny and don't get a older sr20 tranny cause their notorious for 5th popouts and just shitty cases. Get your case welded cause they don't like to be beat on with much power. But if your low on cash just boost your stock engine. Then once that blows then get something different. Why swap something that aint broken? Break first then upgrade! >:D

Re: Sr20DET
i've heard of people using KA24DE boxes from the altima in australia - apparently works really well and is much stronger (and has longer gearing)
