spraying co2

ive heard of people spraying this into there intakes and was wondering if this was for real. if it is is there such athing as to much cold air for the intake? and what kind of power is there expected to be made with spraying co2 in to a normal air intake witha cone filter any information or what not will be greatley appreciated

Whoa whoa whoa.. I think you're missing the point.

You spray Carbon Dioxide into your intake, you'll stifle the combustion, and effectively kill power.

You might be confusing this with spraying N2O, nitrous oxide. This would lower intake temps, and actually promote better combustion based on the chemical reaction of the nitrous atoms breaking apart from the oxygen atoms and adding increased oxygen to the dense air in the combustion chamber.

he is either thinking that, or maybe he is thinking spraying compressed air into the intake manifold, from a tank. instead of from a turbocharger... which of course the tank would run out in about a half a second...

Ya... compressed air from a tank would be hard to tune for. The pressure would change in the bottle based on the heat in the bottle. Then the air wouldn't be cold because it wouldn't be a gas, it would just be air.

I don't think that compressed air would be the best thing to do. I could be wrong though...

or he could be talking about spraying on his intercooler to quickly get the intake temps down. like the NTercooler or whatever the commercial product is called......

Re:spraying co2

i am spraying co2 from a tank into my cold air intake pipeing just before the cone filter. iam using a zex nitrous nozzle which is the 55 hp shot. i do not havea turbo and i am not forcing the c02 into the intake im simply spraying a mist of c02 to lower the temperature of the air in the intake pipeing. the co2 is running through a 5-8 foot stainless steel braided line.

just wondering how well this would work and what kind of performance can i expect to get.

haha without a turbo? well if you in 100 degree weather and you spray that crap in there i guess it might get you 3-4 hp. It would be the difference between driving your car when its 100 degrees out and 50(or whatever your intake air temp is) degrees out.

get a type r sticker it will add more hp.

really sticker are u serious ? cause i was told shoulder pads give the most horse power. but im sure if u put that sticker over ur ass hole it might prevent ur dog from ass rapeing u temporarily ;D

just be ghetto... run to the liquer store get a bag of ice... put that ---- on the intake manifold and throttle and youll be fine..... saw it done at the track once....dont need to get all fancy with the NO2
