spooling issues

i dont know if its me or not. but sometimes it feels like im not catching boost. but yet my boost gauge goes to 11 lbs. but it feels like its not going anywhere. and then there are times when it pulls like crazy. and it spools really late. i catch full boost at like 5k. and i have a really small nissan t3. i dont have any leaks that i know of. can u guys help me??. oh and i went out to the street races last nite and i lost to my buddy with a b16 eg. :'(. i kept breaking traction in first and second. i cant even launch my freakin car. what do u guys do to help with that?

or try launching at a lower rpm?
or let some air out of your tires?

Monitor your A/F ratios maybe your ECU isn't reading accurately and sometimes its getting more fuel or something?

yeah i was thinkin about the boost controller. but im really short on cash at the moment. i launch at 2k and it spin's then catches and burns. i should drop the psi's in the tires. i was too lazy. ehhh ill get em next week. or whenever. i need to change my oil. got to keep this ---- up to date. my sayin is if you treat your car well it'll treat you well. thanks for the answers guys but i cant figure out why it does that

Re:spooling issues

ehh ---- i think im gonna sell my turbo setup and start a new one. one of my buddy's is giving me a slighty bigger t3 than the one i have now. i believe its a .60 compressor side and a .48 exhaust. ehh i dont know car feels sluggish now. im gonna work on it on wednesday. since i dont have class. ill keep you boys updated. yeah spenser i lost to a b16 eg. i whooped his ass the first time but the second time i had a passenger. i just cant grip first and second. maybe cause it was raining earlier in the day. i know all u guys know b16's. fucken torque less you can launch as high was you want and it'll grip and go

not really on street tires...they just cup in the middle when you go too low on psi. they look wider but they arent putting as much rubber on the ground. get an lsd and some real tires, or just learn to launch at part throttle maybe and lean into it once you can get traction

i was thinkin abou getting the falken azenis but the sidewalls are too stiff and arent very good for drag. but their probably better than the ---- i have on it right now. i was thinkin about the bf street slicks but those things are a grip. what tires do u recommend? hey do u guys know if the jdm d15b comes with an lsd tranny? i heard some do but im not sure havent seen it for myself

hmm.. when i was N/A with my b16.. i had to launch at 2200 with my 2 step just to get traction.. unless i had my slicks on. ???

Re:spooling issues

you're boosting 11 psi on a lightweight FF car and you're expecting good traction? ::)

You need a Quaife LSD and some racing slicks.

You should be able to beat a swap though. Maybe your clutch sucks.

hm thats interesting. maybe you have crappy suspension. all the b16's that ive seen can launch harder than a mofo. or maybe u had a really strong motor. my cousins semi built b16 could also launch hard as ----. but that was lsd. i dont know what to say about that one. i can beat a swap. i have a clutch specialties six puck rigid. meaning no springs. well i broke my driver side mount today. and my car smokes when i hold a rev for a while. gonna check it out tomorrow

Re:spooling issues

i think ur turbo was worn or u were having some sort of wastegate problem. I wouldnt waste my time or $ with a new turbo set up man. Lower ur psi... get turbo edit and use launch control... also u might want to throw some extra bumpstops in the rear shocks, stiffen em up. Free mod that makes the rear stiffer so when the weight if falling back its not as bad

Re:spooling issues

i dont know that ---- has issues. im thinkin about selling it. and just going all motor. with like a b18c or an h22. im leanin towards the b18c though.
