Spark Plug Gap
What gap are people running?
I forgot what I was running and now it is time to re-gap them. Thanks. |
Re:Spark Plug Gap
There should be a sticker on the inside of your engine compartment that tells you what it should be.If you get NGK they come pre gaped.

Re:Spark Plug Gap
I was referring to closing the factory gap for turbo reasons.
I think I used to do ~0.025" so that's what I set it at today. I'll be getting another set of NGK 1095's on Wednesday. I forgot the part number..something like BCPRES7-11's. |
Re:Spark Plug Gap
How much boost are you running? what ignition system? At 20psi with a hot ignition I run .028 and dont see any problems.

Re:Spark Plug Gap
When you turbo a car, do you increase the gap or make it smaller?? What the reason for this...
|
Re:Spark Plug Gap
usually you make it smaller because u r compressing more air than when n/a and that makes it harder for the spark to jump the gap. depends on how good your ignition system is though.

Re:Spark Plug Gap
So should i just leave it with the stock gap (91crxsi) or make it a bit smaller? I have stock ignition..
|
Re:Spark Plug Gap
i'd say leave it and see how it runs from there. gap smaller if needed.

I also thought ~0.025" was too tight. On Wednesday I will be opening it up to 0.030". Thanks. |
