Are any of you familiar with this manifold? If so, what are your thoughts?

does it clear the hood?

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

As long as the turbo is not too big it will. There is a company that sells an adapter plate to use large turbos. Im going to look for the pic, hang on.

I wasnt aware that they made this mani for D's.

I knew about the B manifold.

This is sweet.

Am I the only one that thinks the "collector" looks like it flows like ----????

nope

Whats the point of a top mount if the runners are that short, just to say you have a top mount ???

word, maybe some die grinder action would help

i agree isnt the purpose for a t/m for flow and top end power due to longer primaries, bdvt what was your intentions behind using the topmount on you whip

I die grinder cant fix a piss poor design.

top mount helps fit a bigger turbo...

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

a real top mount would help you fit a bigger turbo, but not one with the collector even with the head.

Id assume your oil drain/dp wouldnt hang as low

My ---- has an actual MERGE collector... This POS has four runners that fire into (not only each other) a cavernous ------- hole under the turbo. My manifold was calculated for internal volume and runner length, and was built to make over 600WHP.. IT WORKED

Now im not saying I would NEVER run one on a B, but its really a poor flowing design, you dont need to be a flow dynamics guru to figure that out...

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

Thanks for ur input guys, I considered it for its strength and placement of the turbo. I'll probably end up getting something handmade.

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

are they expensive? with the turbo in the pic it doesnt look like it would clear the hood, but maybe.

gen4acclude 03-23-2008 08:45 PM

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

pretty cheap really but for what they cost a person could fab a full ramhorn mani

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

I found a seller that is askiing for $300 for it new.

lol, I agree, I wouldn't expect to much out of that manifold.

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

If it cost 100 bucks Id pick one up.

300 for a cast mani is just too much IMO.

rosario4124 03-24-2008 12:26 PM

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

for that price you could build a sinktrap mani , and have better flow and money in your pocket still :6

that's what i was thinking. you wouldn't even be able to run too large of a turbo due to hood clearances.

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

Top Mounts arent designed for flow...they are designed to fit a bigger downpipe/turbo setup under the hood.

I have seen these in person and for what they are people running HMT setups should be in heaven. They are cheap, they work and they are made in muffuckin ching chong meow land...wastegate placement doesnt make me very hard and they do weigh a ton.

I have been rocking a cast stainless Inline PRO manifold in my car for 5 years now. I love cast and they work and they flow fine...they dont crack, once the cast is correct they always FIT, and you dont have to wait ten weeks to get one made...or never arrive if you buy from Buttsex

con 03-24-2008 11:57 PM

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

I dont think you can compare a inline pro to one of these. I'd rock a inline anyday.

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

cast ftw. but im not too sure about this one. it looks like poo and with a big turbo it would be a PITA !

inline pro mani is like $500 last time i looked on there site. and ------- ebay still didnt make a copy of it. >:(

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

Those look great i would rock one much easier for downpipes and wroking on the turbo in general.

If it clears the hood I can dig it.

Re: SPA Cast Top Mount

i was just going to try to make an argument about this being great because its a/c compatible, but then i looked at the pic again. seems you cant even keep a/c.

im with joe on this one, if it were $100, or even $150, it would sell like mad. but your $300, no way.

I know everyone could really give two shits but,

I have a spa topmount and my ---- pulls like a ------- raped ape @ 16psi via a garrett 60-1 .63 .70 = black marks at 80mph. This is on a piston rod swaped stock head, stock block gsr.

I get no creep and will be dyno ectuning it soon and will post 400+whp results.

I am in the process of sleeving a block and have no plans what so ever of replacing it @ 600+whp. The runners are huge, all casting lines are smooth as ----, wg placement rocks, looks great, and it fits great.

Not that I have anything against ching chong rice ---- because I have owned several cheap ass turbo setups, this mani is made in brazil which doesn't really mean ---- here but over there they are supposed to be a reputable company.

you laying black marks at 80 mph means you have a ---- alignment or bad tires..

... i would say there no plus to running these other than room .. other than that they look good .. but for 300 dollars i'l make a sidewinder
