Re: Some problems with new setup

Im with Jo_gobel the 1psi= close to 10hp. specially on that car. He even did the equations for your dumbass's and still cant get it through your heads. Just run the damn car at the track and post a time slip to prove your time. Im guessing 14.3 at best in your boosted cavi with street tires.

Wow, that's the dumbest ------- "rule of thumb" I've ever heard of.

im done with you idiots that refuse to read a my post.

as for you mr klyph, at least you have an excuse, i know Alaska doesnt have the greatest education system up there. I visited once, probably would never go back, the women are -----s and the men are ------- stupid.

you need to read all of my posts you turdburgler, reading comprehension owns you.

the one and only thing that was good in alaska was Chilkoot Chairlies in Anchorage

and b18civicEF, thanks for taking the time to read, understand, and realize what i am saying. you have restored hope that there are more than a bunch of argumentative ass fucks on this site.

that rule of thumb is ------ junk....it all depends on the turbo, the engine and the efficiency of the setup. I dont think that 10hp/psi works for a 14b, my GT32, and a Borg S372

Re: Some problems with new setup

ITS NOT 10HP/1PSI FOR EVERY ENGINE, JUST THIS ------- CAVILIER, THE EQUATION IS 1PSI=6.8% OF N/A POWER AND IS JUST A ESTIMATE.

jesus ------- christ, read my god damn posts, i have said this like 10 times now.

so for example, if you make 180chp stock, and slap a turbo on at 10psi, the equation would be 180 x .068 = 12.24, so it would it would be 1psi/12.24chp, therefor, 10 x 12.24 = 122chp + 180chp (original n/a chp) = 302chp

if you make 275chp and slap a turbo on at 10psi, the equation would be 275 x .068 = 18.7, so it would be 1psi/18.7chp, therefor, 10 x 18.7= 187chp + 275chp (original n/a chp) = 462chp

Your ------- issue is this you cuntrag.. Take situation below

B16 making ~160chp naturally aspirated

Now you are trying to tell people that a GT17, a T3 60 trim, and a T4 flanged turbo are all going to make the same 10chp per 1psig? Doesn't work that way, since you aren't taking into account the cfm and efficiency levels/compressor maps of the turbos.

Oh, and since I'm in the mood to trash people, your lone supporter here, B18CivicEF, look at his sig.. Tell me what's wrong with it and you win a cookie and a mini parade for both you faggots.

instead of busting out some hypothetical situation, why dont you show me a car that has this setup and what power they put down. and then i will provide you with the simple math written out for you to understand. again.

as i have stated time and time again, it is just a tool that you can use to ESTIMATE what your hp level would be at. every car that i have applied the formula to it has given a very close # to what the actual hp was. if you can see past this part of what i am saying you sir should be given the "biggest :1 award"

now about the guys signature that is actually understanding what i am saying. who the ---- cares what his sig says? and if your actually judging someone by what their sig is, you are an even bigger douche than i thought you were.

Re: Some problems with new setup

Explain to me how, using your formula, a T2, T3, T4, and T6 flanged turbo would all make the same hp at 10psi? Run a T3 on a stock LS1 and it will struggle to make 100chp. Run a 76mm T4 and it will make much more than 100chp extra.

That ---- doesn't take into account anything regarding turbo sizing. A T6 at 10psi is going to make a fuckload more chp than a T3 flanged unit at 10psi. Simple as that. Formula doesn't take that into consideration.

ive got 2 words for you....

compressor maps.

obviously a t2 is not going to put out the same power as a t6, because the t2's efficiancy island is by far lower than the t6. so if your at 8psi and in the center of the island with a t2, you would most likely be struggling to spool the t6. and the same goes for the other end of the spectrum. a t6 might be in the center island at 20psi, however, 20psi on a t2 would make it explode.

think a little bit douchebag, if you over spin the turbo, it wont be efficiant and make power, and if you underspin a turbo it isnt even spooling to produce power.

each ------- turbo has its own efficiancy range, so anyone in their right ------- mind isnt going to do 30,40,50 psi on an undersized turbo, and the same goes for a large turbo, someone shouldnt be running a large turbo at 5psi.
