I could think of worse things to turbo, like a lada or yugo. Then again that would be way cooler.

All under 6000rpm and with a 700rpm idle and at 1 bar of boost. By that 1psi=10chp, that would either mean the motor makes 860ish chp N/A, which it does not, or it is running an ***-ton of boost, which it is not since it was only running 1 bar of boost. That a good enough example?

I think I win?
wrong, they made 769chp on 91oct

they made 1165chp on 110oct race fuel

Really? Because the Brutal was on pump gas and made 1025chp.. Think you need to up your reading comprehension. Dumb ******

wow, now that I have proved the math equation right, you have nothing to to argue about so now you have to pick apart 1 sentence in the entire article.

i quoted in my last reply what they stated in the article, sorry i have a job and only briefly read the 5 page article and i missed one sentence that you so politely have pointed out.

ok, i missed a sentence, your right, they tuned for 1000+ chp on 91 oct.

now that you feel better about yourself, how about going back to the original argument. so instead of talking 1000+hp engines that do follow the 1psi=6.8%hp posted earlier, lets get back to the Cavi her that i still think is not as fast as a modded cobalt ss.

also, qikenuf, why are you sticking up for this guy? you dont believe what i say, yet you believe what this guy is saying? is it because of the Cavi love you have for each other? gotta stick up for each other?

They don't follow that rule, because an 8:1 406 is not making the 800hp you would need for that to come up as 10chp/psi. So because I claimed your statement was wrong (which it was since you mis-stated the actual rule of thumb because you are an ignorant nagger), you got all butthurt and failed to prove yourself correct. Then you called me ignorant, when you were the one misquoting things and being a steaming ball of ******. The way I see the OP's post, maybe he figures that based on how fast it was granny shifting and not redlining, that if he didn't lift his foot and redlined the thing it would be faster than his Cobalt. My Cavalier has 6 cylinders, and I am not a fan of 3rd gens anyways (Except Pete's) so that isn't why I got on your case. I got on your case because you are a symbol of homosexual culture.

Bitchtits, don't get so butthurt. This is HMT

evidently your the one not reading. look at the link i posted and re read my posts.

the formula is 1psi = 6.8% HP

for the Cavi (and MOST production cars, it works out to about 1psi = 10 chp).

not every engine has the same results.

so the formula is correct

anything else you want to try and prove me wrong on, because your not doing a good job.

fyi, the 406 in the article has a compression ratio: 8.96:1

not 8:1

Well, then you started trying to apply it to my example, and failed. And a 9:1SCR 406 isn't going to make 800chp N/a either
