Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
Hi,
First of all, í'm new here, so please don't flame an shoot me, i'm new into boosting. Okay, here it goes: I've turbocharged my D15, with a Garrett t3 turbo. It runs great when there is minimum boost., no issues so far. But, when i hit the gas, and my car revs up to like 4000rpm, the boost get's around, 4/5psi... then my engine check light pops on... I've checked the error codes, and this are the results: 3 - MAP (afaik) 5 - MAP (afaik) 7 - TPS... Now, the TPS is like strange... does a d15b2 have a TPS ? And, if it does, where the hell is that thing at? I've found a sensor like thingy behind my chocke-throttlebody, but... i'm not sure if this is te TPS. So, if anyone has suggestions 'bout that... pleaaaaaaaase. Then, the 3 and 5 errors. I've used several checkvalves... like 4 diffrent brands... some are from a gardenwarehouse, the others from a aquariumstore.... all... don't seem to fool my MAP sensor... Or, is it possible it has something to do with the TPS error? I mean, SandmanCivic is running almost the same setup as i am, and he has NO errorcodes. as far as i can see the MAP error occures when i'm getting to 5psi @ 4500rpm in 2nd, or in 3th and 4th at 3000rpm. I now have two checkvalves BEFORE the MAP sensor... but still... no happy boosting. Please help me out here. (btw, i want to by a ML002 from synapse, but it is hard to get one here, cuz im in The Netherlands). Thx, t0n |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
I had a code 3 and 5 before try switching up some vacumm lines to the map sensor i changed it and never had the code again, the tps sensor is on the right side of the manifold U can see it under the big cover. the sensor could be going bad. check the vacum lines because you might not be having anof vacum going to the map sensor check this stuff out and let us know if it still occurs

So, you are sure that there is a TPS on my B2 (dualpoint) intake? And about the vac lines to the MAP sensor... What is the best thing to do, intake -> checkvalve > checkvale > MAP ? Do you suggest to use a longer vacuumline towards the MAPsensor? so that the checkvalves can get rid of the overflow first? |

Yes iam positive of the tps sensor on the B2 I have the same motor. what is your vac that you have at this time. Shouls be around 18-23 to have max vac i dont know the check valve question because I havent used it. Is your lines ran like you have it as you said intake, check, check, map. If so try it and some other ways its a trial and error basically at this point. others here will be able to tell you more info on the checkvales so give them some time. |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
Yes the D15b2 does has a TPS, its right under the TB, *SEE PIC BELOW
its held in by a rivet, that you can cut a notch in a turn out, or you can just drill it out. its the unit that looks like a green plastic button heres a shitty pic. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...68_10_full.jpg hope this helps! |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
Okay, now i know where it is.
But, what doe I need to do with it? Or is it just broken orso? |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
To get back on the MAP issues.
Somebody offered me a 3BAR mapsensor... is this wise to buy and install to get rid of my map issues? |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
You wont need your check valves anymore if u get that how much is he selling it for?

This map sensor, accepts 3Bar, but... it still sends a signal out to my ECU, wich does not understand pressure.... right? He's selling it for €60, that's about $75 |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
Your ECU Doesn't know what boost is.
I would try with some checkvalves. Just like Jimclure said, basically trail and error. PS Is dit die rooie civic van Honda Team Nijmegen? |

Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
I bought myself a missinglink, the ML002 @ a good tuner here in the netherlands.
Gonna pay about 125 USD for it, but hey, welcome to the nether'you pay to much tax'lands. |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
What fuel management are you running? Just an FMU? I had the same issue with my buddies civic untill we fixed the in & out and I think its at 5 or 6 right now on his AFC. But we had the same issues your describing untill we changed that. The stock MAP supposedly can take up to 9.25psi, (OBD0 MAPs) so I have no clue why your throwing a MAP code if your not running the hack.

Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
Easy fix would be to swap to MPFI and run Turboedit!!

I'm gonna go for mpfi, once i have the cash for it. Honda Junkjard parts are hella cheap in the states, but here in Europe, you pay twice as much! I've bought a 5:1 JacksonRacing FMU yesterday... I know, it's smaller than a 12:1, but i only have 2 injectors. And... almost everyone who's running stock ECU together with a 12:1 fmu is running waaayyy too rich. I'm getting the missinglink tomorrow or monday... I'll let you guys know. |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
I have no MAP errors anymore, i've changes my vacuumlines to the MAP sensor.
I do still get the TPS error (nr 7)... so i'm gonna swap the TPS now. And... this FMU (jacksonracing) seems to be great, it's running just between stoich and rich on WOT. |
Re: Some help needed with my d15b2 install.
Has anyone a idea, why i get the TPS code?
And what can i do to solve it? (i've tried to change the TPS, but i can't get it out, the screws... will get... screwed. :P ) |
