SOHC ZC HMT kit :)

Alright, there are probably like 10 of these a day, but please bear with me on this. Just another complete noob looking to learn by piecing together a kit as opposed to buying one.

I've decided to turbo my car sometime this summer, and I'm making a list of stuff to get/look around for. Keeping in mind that this'll be my daily driver/auto-x car I'm looking more for low end/reliability (if there is such a thing!). Anyways, on with the list:

Stuff to buy:

1. IHI RHB5
2. HF Manifold
3. Adaptor Plate
4. 450cc DSM injectors
5. Gauges (Air-fuel, oil press, boost)
6. Stealthmode oil line kit/oil restrictor
7. Misc. couplings, fittings, etc.
8. FMIC
9. 1g DSM BOV
10. OBD0 chipped pm6

Stuff to ghetto fab/buy:

1. Charge piping
2. Downpipe (2.5in good enough to clear stock 89' Si HB crossmember without hacking?)
3. Decent flowing exhaust
4. Oil Catch can?

Stuff I have:

1. Air filter haha

Stuff I really don't understand:

Nothing right now, finally understand tuning/chipping :).

Sounds like you have most of it covered. And yes a 2,5 inch downpipe will clear fine. For engine management you will need to either chip your ecu[need 90+PM6] or buy one prechipped for you so you can run a engine managment program such as Turbo Edit which is designed for 1988-1991 Hondas OBD0.To tune it yourself you will need a wideband sensor to watch the air/fuel so you can make adjustments to get a safe tune as well as a chip burner to load your custom onto the chip or you can use a emulator such as the Moates Ostrich which allows realtime programming on the fly.You can get all your ecu and tuning gear from http://www.-------------/products.php?page=prod_coverwho is a sponsor here and great to deal with and has some great writeups on his site as well for making basemaps etc..This site here is dedicated to the engine management programs and is where you are going to need to spend some time reading as it takes a while to grasp it all.www.pgmfi.orgGood luck.

Thanks for the reply! Those links really helped, and I think I actually have a pretty good grasp of TurboEdit now. Just need to get my kit together/fab everything up now. Still can't believe I was so intimidated by tuning when all of the information was already there in the form of write-ups. <3 HMT :).

Of course my grasp of tuning is completely in theory right now. Just need to go out and apply it.
