Your turbo is at the very least oil cooled. You can tell if it is also water cooled by checking the center section. If there are 2 holes on opposite ends then it's only oil cooled. If you have 4 holes 90 degrees apart from each other then it is both oil and water cooled.
Regarding diagrams and pictures, they are all over this site and google is your friend. Your motor is just asking for boost

Water cooled isnt neccessary. But it prolongs the life of the turbo. Cooling the turbo down keeps the turbo more efficent.
W-what? A n00b "how does turbos work" post that didn't get flamed?!
Since you guys seem to be in a good mood, let me try this here instead of starting a new thread...
How does a .60/.63 behave on a stock cam Z6, and will it make ~300WHP? Generally where does the boost come in? What about a "LOL SSAUTOSHIT" (yeah I know, save it please, I can deal with the problems it might have) .50/.70 hybrid? No boost until 3500rpm wouldn't bother me. I'd like it to be a normal car until, well, until it's time to not be normal anymore.
At 300WHP with good rods, pistons, & head studs, what's the Z6's weak spot? Where do they usually fail? Are they fixable (headgasket) or toast (crank stuck in the asphalt) when they go? Oiling problems?
I already bought a Turbonetics cast manifold, just getting a little confused on what direction to go next.
