Snowmobile downpipe

Hey guys I have a question involving two strokes. I'm putting a turbo on a 77 arctic cat sled. I was wondering I can just run my downpipe out the belly pan and delete my silencer pipe. Or do I need to keep the silencer and run my downpipe to it? Thanks

There is no point in anything but a strait dump off the turbo(other than noise controll), the manifold before the turbo would be the only game changer as far as 2 stroke tuning opportunity. Good luck and let us know how it turns out :)

Ok cool ill keep it near by just in case its too loud. Ill be making a 2 into1 manifold out of 1 3/4pipe. You think shorter is better right? More heat more velocity? Thanks for the info. ill be posting my progress as it comes.

I think because of the way a two stroke engine works you would have to keep your mid pipe for it to work. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...pbCEdWLzT8v2YW

Anyway remember things like an oil pressure/cooling system needs to be build for the turbo on a 2 stroke.

Yeah I'm gonna run a diesel fuel pump to circulate the oil from a tank to the turbo. I'm just trying to find out how to run it off my lighting coil without draining too much power. I'm putting LEDs in head and tail light to free up some power. I plan on using a t3 so I won't need coolant lines.

I meant cooling the oil system. I am not sure what kind of options there are on the opposite side of the clutch as far as running a pump mechanically.... You will probably have to run a battery of some sort for an electric pump.

I'm gonna use an electric diesel fuel pump to pump oil to the turbo. I'll probably get a small oil cooler too. Unfortunately I will need a battery to help with the power.
