Default Smallest turbo to use???

I'm looking for a very small turbo to use on my 2.2 Sunfire. I've had a Mitsu TD04 and the Subaru IHI RHB5 in my car before, but I want to have one that can produce around 10 psi and spools up very Damn fast.. Any? I've looked into the Garrett T28 or the ones from the Nissans... If they are still a bit too big, please give me the trim that I might want to look into. Thanks.

I don't agree with what your doing cause its completely inefficient. IF you put a really small turbo on a big motor yeah its going to full spool at 1.5k but at 3k it'll act like a giant cork in your motor and will cost you a SHITLOAD of power.

If your going to do a turbo kit, don't build it on how fast the spool time is, build it to make power. You shouldn't ever worry about spool time unless your trying to do like a T66 on that thing. Spool time is overrated.

I know, but I'm just looking for max power at lower end for daily drive. Also, my engine bay has limited space and I'm trying to find a turbo that's smaller than the IHI RHB5 from the old Subaru turbos for the new design that I'm gonn try. I was suggested a T28 from Garrett, how's those?

I would suggest no smaller than a T3 on a 2.2 liter motor. Obviously you never owned a turbocharged vehicle so its my experience that you should build a car to go fast and to do this, ---- your low end and concentrate on your top end.

Your telling me you want to build a car thats going to be slow as hell but you'll be able to drive around every day at 10psi? It'll be a gas hog. I love turbo lag, the more you have the fast your car is. I drive mine as a daily driver and I like how I can stay out of boost all the time but when its time to race or go fast, I have massive top end (USABLE) power

May want to consider a DSM T25, they spool fast, and lots of dsm guys boost them about 15psi on a 2.0l, (they are not very efficent up there) but it is a slightly larger turbo than a RHb5 and a TD04. Or another option would be the 14b TD05h from a 1g DSM. Lots of smaller T3's would fit your application well too, I personally like a little bit of lag, and would rather have the power come in late then right at the tap of the throttle.

K thanks, I'll look into that turbo. My friend told me that the T28 by Garrett would be great too, but I think the rations are higher than the .42/.48
