Silicone or Nitrile?

I'm getting ready to order my new couplers and stuff today. So what should I get? Silicone for like $50 lol or Nitrile 3ft for $27? Will the nitrile really hold? Its temp rating is still somewhat low like 227 degrees.

Well your charge pipes arent going to get up to 227 degrees I hope!Im just using 2.25" fuel hose from Napa that I bought for $16 a foot fro Napa auto parts.Thats rated at 185 degrees.I would go with the cheaper ones but thats just me :-\.

I use nitril all the time and I have never had a problem with it. Just think what the factory uses on all the mass produced turbo cars like the DSMs, they are using radiator hose for the most part.
What size are you using? I may be able to get you a better price.

just weld a bead where your charge pipes connect or rough them up with 100 grit and nitride will hold fine. i dont know if silicone holds better or anything but my nitride are fine at 10-12 psi, they did blow off before i put the bead on the charge pipes.

Weld it, or if you don't weld, mask and JB-weld it! And some 3m spray adhesive wouldn't hurt. No way they will blow off if you put that stuff on there, course you probably couldn't TAKE them off either.

Guess I'll go with nitrile and if they wanna blow then I'll throw on some T bolt clamps. Thanks for the input. ;)

ahh nitrile sucks. use the silocne there not that exspensive. the silicone hoses are re enforced with a nit fabric that makes them alot stronger.
