Default Should I go no filter?

Well I installed my little HKS filter knock off. And turns out it barely fit. Well after closer examination I noticed my wastegate nipple has been owned by it. So now I dont know what to do. I cant fit a filter down there to save my life. Heres the pic of the mushroom filter.

So should I go no filter? Or screen mesh it or something? =\

filters are for all-motor gays with cold air intakes... I use two layers of screen clamped over the inlet... works great

I think air filters are bad luck. The majority of people who blew something up are running air filters, I have no filter 11 psi no intercooler and beating the ---- out if it every day and its holding together. The day I put filters on it to "protect" the motor will probably be the day it gernades.

Its fucked up logic but its my theory

I would use SOMETHING. Screen or a filter, just don't go completely filterless.

Are there any really really really small k&n filters? I dont really wanna go no filter.

Thats my old setup. But I dont wanna go back to that because I need to rid myself of that radiator hose and go with actual pipes. =\

Go to an off-road motorcycle shop and look around for cone style filters. They have them for all kinds of quads. Fairly tiny.

Actually I just found a place online that sells cone foam style filters for bikes. They have on with a 2 1/4 id inlet, 4inch length. I just gotta find out the width to see if itll clear my wastegate. =\
