Should I be brave with this T3/T4? (PICS)
I picked up this T3/T4 from a local I am going to tune a car for. It's very obviously one of those ZY/XSPOWER split compressor turbos.
So here's the question...
Since I am already aware of the compressor issue with these, does anyone have any insight or experience with them? How do the seals and bearings hold up?
I have two ideas on what I might do. The first is to tig the entire seam of the compressor so I know its staying in one piece. The other idea is to find another compressor housing and wheel and swap it on.
What do you guys think about the tig idea?

I'd be afraid to run a quality comp. housing on it that will outlast the current one. Seeing as how it's the weak link, replacing it will create another weak link by giving it the ability to run harder and longer. I would think the second weakest link would be the compressor wheel, but IDK.
