This should answer any Q's about XS POWER /SSauto famous TO4E turbo
So people keep asking if the ss auto to4e .50/.63 57 trim turbo is OK to run on their set up. Theres also been talk of a chinees imitation turbo that was produced. Well, maybe or maybe not. But they are still out there. From what ive read, some people have been running them without any problems, and then theres the pic with the compressor housing that is split in two......that i do believe. About 7 months ago before i really knew anything about ss auto, i bought a larger turbo on ebay to replace my t3. just this last month i finally got around to putting it on and only about 150 or so miles later i started hearing this loud grinding sound and then my car wouldnt boost anymore. When the turbo was working it didnt sound like most turbos when it spooled. It literally sounded like the wind howling. It did pull hard at 8psi though. Anyways i pulled it out and tore it apart to find quallity at its best
This is a pic of the compressor housing. Black tag look familiar?

You can notice on the top where the intake is, its all grinded from the compressor wheel rubbing!

Notice the little tacks on the inside of the housing? Besides the glue, that is whats holding the housing together.

Here is the compressor wheel, i dont know if you can notice....but on a few of the edges they are grinded down about 3mm. or so. Damn...i prob threw it out of balance taking that apart

Anyone want a nice Turbonetics exhaust housing?.....wait....thats not turbonetics!!

Oh...and not only was there an oil leak between the center section and the exhaust housing, there was an exhaust leak.

So... lesson to be learned you get what you pay for...
Ill prob slap the turbo together and sell it to some idiot on ebay
I know they arent all bad cause some people have good results but just beware.
.....hopefully the pics didnt turn out to large.
