Set the record straight...spark plugs....

Ok I just did a search for the past hour on colder plugs. Well I think I have it figured out but I want to set it straight so I know for sure. Don't want to go and put hotter plugs in thinking they are colder :-X

Ok so my stock plugs are NGK BCPR6EY-N
So the 6 is the heat range right?
Colder plugs for FI so I go one number higher, meaning I now need NGK BCPR7EY-N? Is this right?
I know this is simple but I want to make sure, sorry for the stupid newbie post but hopefully it'll help someone else out too.

That ---- always confuses me, but I think you have it right. I always thought it was lower to go colder, but I was proved wrong in a post a while back. The search function sucks, otherwise I would link you to it. :-\

Don't worry man I searched, and searched, and yeah searched some more, it was starting to confuse me worse so I figured it better to post yet again about it, hopefully this time to clear it up and I'll post it in the FAQ's. I even checked there but it just has some links to HT and says to buy a bunch of different kinds but dosn't say what motor they were for, except one post that was for GSR and LS, which is no good for most of the people here....

ok i just went to like 10 parts stores and i finally found someone at kragens (CSK) that was willing to help me find out the real deal about the 'ZFR7J11', he pulled out the 2004 catalog and its not an exsisting number, the person who told you might have seen the 'ZFR7F11' it says next to it in the catalog that 'ZFR6J11 - Colder plug - Import Cars; Honda' the stock number is '5585' Stock Plugs are '5584' but they didnt stock em anywheres they are all 3 day special order )=- we even looked at ngk.com for 'ZFR7J11' they arent listed. oh well, i need some damn colder plugs )=

Damn, go you!

and you couldn't figure out how to install the check valve the other night but able to kick ass on getting plug research done.

If you want the old school (ghetto) way of making your delco 44T plugs cooler on your v8, just shorten the gap :P
