sc61 or hy35

just kinda curious which people would perfer it's going on an ls with:

70mm sk2 tb
sk2 manifold
p&p head
delta cams
sk2 valve springs and tit retainers
stock bottom end

just curious cuz I can get both for the same price but what would be more benifitial. I kinda need help now.

holset can be had cheaper and will spool slightly quicker on an ls

Off topic but how much are the skunk2 springs/retainers? The hy35 is a good turbo for a LS :y

to compare with sc61 or hy35, you could use a garrett 60-1.

changing turbine a/r and trim to maximise it's behvaior will be much easier and cheaper.

Re: sc61 or hy35

sc61 because I never used a holset turbo, but I am currently using a sc61.

Re: sc61 or hy35

sk2 springs and tit retainers cost me $350. this is good what about the hx35? This is pretty much what left I need so I wanna see what the best option is before I buy

Re: sc61 or hy35

stock honda springs for that much? man you would have been better off with some aftermarket springs.

get wahtever turbo you can afford, my pick is the sc61 for performance, I love this turbo

Re: sc61 or hy35

I am using skunk 2 cams.

but when you say s2k, honda s2000 come to mind. I have a lot of friends that are paying that much for stock itr and s2000 springs and retainer just because the s2000 can rev high, and because it say jdm. so my bad I just misunderstood your acronym.

skunk 2 is not as bad as what people make them out to be. I like the cams, really vicious cams

Re: sc61 or hy35

I'm gonna run the delta cams for now I night either go crower or have some custom built. Delta can do that to.

Re: sc61 or hy35

a buddy of mine put a holset hy35 on his ls, its a pretty good turbo for a LS. havent come close to pushing it yet 7psi max so far.

spools good too on a stock motor with regrind cams 4" DP transitioning to 3" (holset has a 4" turbine exit) a ram horn and a fairly restricitve exhaust

HY uses a T3 exhaust flange
HX has a slpit exahust flange, and there bigger i think too

what year is the turbo from, i know the newer ones have an electronic WG actuator
