Save ignition retard for NA-T

Hello Folks
I have a turbo'd Toyota 3S-GE gen2. I'm running with stock internals for now. These Pistons give a 10:1 compression. To be on the save side boost is limited to 7 PSI for now and I added an ignition retard of 1 degree per PSI. Intake temperatures are pretty low due winter and a good sized fmic. I'm using 98 ron petrol.
What are your experiences with the ignition retard on such an application? Would it be risky to go with 0.5 degree per PSI boost? Or is 1 degree per PSI already the minimum one should have here?
Greetings

Different engines have different timing needs; it's best to get this dialed in on a dyno (or at a dragstrip) and see what makes more power. Sometimes too much advance can hurt power just as much as too little.

Use a set of "det cans" to listen for knock; this is basically a knock sensor hooked up to a set of earphones and can give you a better warning that listening unassisted.

Yeah I know, best would be to tune it on the dyno, but I planned on doing so after I done some more mods and swapped in 3S-GTE pistons.
I just asked because I thought if I'm lucky I reach someone who already made some experience with a 3S-GE-T engine :)
