Safe PSI???

I was curious of the max SAFE PSI I would wanna run on this setup. I was told 22 but that just sounds like too much. Here is the setup.

Motor:
its a b16 with srp 9:1 compression pistons eagle rods
block has stock sleeves :(
Crank has been balanced

the head is all skunk2 valve train. skunk2 titanium retainers
ss valves and dual valve springs.

skunk 2 cam gears on B16 cams (hopfully GSR cams this weekend) and a toda timing belt

itr intake manifold and itr throttlebody

770cc injectors

turbo kit is a Drag 3 gen kit. T3/t4 turbo, tubonetics external wastegate set at 8psi
HKS SSQ BOV
JRC FMIC (huge)
Light weight flywheel stage3 clutch
3" piping
MSD digital 7 ingiton
Hondata s200b

I am not sure of the Sfe PSI I was thinking like 12psi for a street driver and turn it up to like 18psi for the track and racing? Does that sound like it is safe?

Ya that sounds good providing it is well tuned.

:l Youve gota nice setup but 22 psi is nuts to dd with, right around 10 would be good for dding though. If you dont mind me asking why did you have all that work done (im assuming you didnt build this engine) and not have it sleeved.?

sounds good on 93 octane, but im sure you can go higher with race fuel.... provided that you get it tuned for it

I was reffering to the 12 daily and 18 at the track.

Limited budget wasnt really planing to go BIG it just turned out this way. The car was actually a friends. He did most the work I just kinda took over the project. I now have a GSR block that is being built stroked and sleeved. Yeah I wasnt talking 22psi for a DD no way. I am thinking like a good 12psi for street and I am not quite sure for the track. I am going to have the car tuned soon cause the hondata was just installed so it doesnt really run great. But I cannot decide on what I should tune the high boost setting to. 18????

What turbo is it? T3/T4 means nothing if you don't know which trim your compressor wheel is and don't have a map for it showing how much you're theoretically ingesting and compressing at various psi through the rpm range. Have you had this car on a dyno yet? Checked to see where you have most power at various psi? Checked your A/F at those ranges? You can't just say 12 psi is good or "don't go higher than 15 psi" or "20 psi is max" because all turbos are going to react differently with different applications, rpm range, boost level, A/F ratio, etc.

PSI is the measurable amount that the compressor wheel is ingesting air and compressing it at. lbs/min, m³/min, cfm are what you should actually be thinking about.

What trim is your compressor wheel?

Just get it tuned on a dyno. Get it up to 450-500whp :y You should be straight as long as your tuner is good.

i will have to look at the trim on the turbo I cant quite remember off the top of my head. I havent taken it to the dyno quite yet I am planning on taking it soon I was just wondering what I shoud tune it to.
