Saab turbo

Yo the other day me and my friend pulled a junkyard turbo off of a saab 9000 turbo. it has a .42 cold side with a .48 hot side. internally wastegated and oil and water cooled. its a garrett turbo. i was just wondering what turbo this was and any info yall can give me. also if it is worth rebuilding and what not. it also has a large crack internally on the exhaust side but it doesnt go all the way through the housing. any input will help.

Re: Saab turbo

you got it right buddy, its a t3 42/48

just swap the housing, and run it the way it is. if it burns up, get another.

Read the number off the plate on the compressor housing i.e TB0382, TB0356, etc. Use that to determine what the trim level of the turbo is. After you've determined what the trim level is, read the compressor map for it and compare it to your engine output.

Google is your friend. You'll find all the answers based upon my first paragraph with a little searching. Plus, I've answered these questions a few times before here, so search my old posts as well.
