Saab Exhaust Housing swap questions

I've been lurking on this site for a number of years. I know the drill but cant' seem to find an answer by searching.

Well I thought my problems had been solved when I came across a saab t3 .42/.48 at the junkyard today. Currently I have a T-bird T3 60/.48 but unfortunatly a number of bolts broke on the exhaust housing when I tried to clock it and I needed a saab swingarm assembly because the t-bird assembly faces into the block. I took the t-bird exhaust housing to the maching shop and it turned out that it would cost more to remove the broken bolts than the housing was worth. PITA

Anyways I bought the saab turbo for next to nothing and attempted to swap the saab exhaust housing onto the T-bird T3 but the problem is that the t-bird turbine rubs on the saab exhaust housing pretty bad and won't spin at all when its been clocked and the bolts have been tightened. It spun freely with little shaft play when the old housing was on the t-bird turbo. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe port the exhaust housing or swap the turbine? Can you even port the exhaust housing to make room for the turbine to spin or will that really throw everything off. I've searched but can't seem to find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
