Ok, I'm pretty set on getting an rx7 intercooler for my custom setup.

now I'm wondering, which do you guys think would be better to get, the older turboII style intercooler,
or the newer 3rdgen rx7 intercooler.

the turboII has an opening on its side, and out its back.
and the 3rdgen has two both on the back.

neither would be optimal(both on sides) but ****.. i'll make do, they're hella cheap, compared to starion intercoolers.

So what do you guys think?

If you can get them to fit, I'd think they be good till 10-12psi, they are kinda ugly, but who cares...

 

they will work, especially if its just a cheap D-series kit your going for.

they do look a bit homosexual, but then again, so does beau :P

Don't the 3rd gen intercoolers have plastic endtanks? Something to think about if you have to modify them.

 

yeah, they have plastic endtanks,
but i dont giveashit, I'm not doing ANY welding on this project anyways.

RX-7 Series 4 87-88 Intercoolers are the best flowing stock intercoolers besides a vovlo one, i forgot which.

 

You should get one of those sexy intercoolers like the one Jeff has on his car. But then again 33 dollars sounds a whole lot nicer than 220.
