manifold when it was new


its a forged manifold, is it supposted to rust like this?

 

MMM. Oxygen Oxides metals. Air Cntains Oxygen. Not to much you can do about that.

You really had to ask if steel was supposed to rust. Doesn't matter if it's new. Could have sat on a frieght truck, shelf, boat, plane for 30year before it was every bought.

 

paint it wit high temp. paint.

 

but make sure you clean the rust off, if it bothers you.

 

How do you like that mani besides the rust, i was thinking about getting one, but i think a tubular custom fab whould flow better

 

lol, it works. i am selling the kit thats all. just thought the buyer wouldnt really like having a rusty manifold.

Brush it off. It looks like minor surface rust. Not anything to be concerned about yet. And, I would say it's cast, not forged. :P

 

rust on metal is like herpes on your *****.

The buyer shouldnt really care if he knows anything about turbo ----.
