Running coolant lines to 14b
 

N E one know what is need to run the coolant/water jack on the 14b?
sense thery're there i wanna make use of them.
and also what method can i use, i hear running it to the TB coolant line is ok,thanks.

Some people will tell you it's a waste of time, other people will agree with the first people and then there's the other people who say it doesn't really matter... ???

If you want to do it, you need some fittings to screw into the turbo, some hose capable of withstanding hot coolant heat ( 5/16" fuel line gets pretty expensive at $4 a foot :P) and some clamps for said hose. I ran mine between the head and the TB.

Car runs exactly the same as it did before power-wise and I have some comfort knowing I probably don't need a goofy turbo timer.

watercooling helps to prefend coked-up turbo bearings ;)
if you have the possebility, just it.. prolly your watertemp would rise a bit. its your choice, a bit hotter water and 50% turbolife gain, or not :)

can the fittings be something like the oil return fitting?
the ones tha tgo into the oil pan the the oil out side of the turbo?
so....i would cut the TB coolant line, run that end to the "in coolant side" of teh turbo, then run a fitting/hose out the "out coolant side of the turbo, and run that hose to the other side of the hose that was cut from the TB?

There is no reason to cut it, just take the whole thing off.

I don't believe there's an in or out on a turbo, so either way it's still gonna flow. I used some barbed fittings from Home Depot, some little tube clamps and about 18 to 20 feet of hose (+/- a bunch of feet).

By the way, there was a thread on this a few weeks ago... Basically, the people down South say it's a waste of time and impossible for a Honda cooling system to deal with the extra heat and blah, blah, blah (insert technical know-it-all bullshit here)....

Well I can tell you personally that my car runs EXACTLY the same temp as it did before I ran coolant thought the turbo...

ok cool, thanks guys...

im not really worried about if the temp goes up a little, im more worried about the turbo. the track i go to (2 of them) are a good.....70+ miles away from where i stay so u know, i dont wanna get there and have to wait or not race at all because of the long trip and the stress on the turbo.

Cool! Yeah, if you don't cut any of your original tubing and want to switch back, it's a matter of just disconnecting the new lines and adding the old tubing back (instead of having to put some coupling or adapter between the 2 ends). I've thought about switching back a few times just to see if there really is any kind of loss or gain. :P
