I looked but didn't see any other posts on this. I am turboing my D16 and a friend recomended Royal Purple oil. Has anyone used it and if so what weight oil do you recomend?

Thx,
Nick

Royal Purple is good. I've used it... pretty much the same as the Mobil 1 synthetic that I use. Just use which ever one you can get cheaper. They both do the job just fine.

running royal purple in a D series is a complete waste of money. I would only run royal purple in a fully built motor made of titanium

its a very good oil... just a matter of how much dough you got to spare on oil changes every 3k or so thats all.

motor oil in general well last as long as you leave it in there. It doesnt mean it will do any good.

thats obvious im just saying even a mobil-1 is suppose to last 5-7k from what i hear, i know ive left in castrol syntec for 4500 and it wasnt broke down or to dirty, but a mobil 1 filter probably helped some which i dont usualy run

ive used mobil 1 and redline but didnt notice a difference between them both so i'd say go for the cheapest 1 ;)

i also heard that certain types of royal purple has to be run with gapless ringas. im not to sure what gapless rings mean, but i guess the oil is prety thin and gets passed the rings somehow unless there used

gapless rings I think are those total seal rings you can buy. Someone correct me if Im wrong.
