Rotary Turbo Installation
 

I've been looking around for custom turbo installation guides and have found great informations on them. But the problem is that they have all been on piston engines. I was wondering if you guys have stumbled upon a turbo installation guide for a rotary engine, or could I just more or less follow the guides I have for piston engines and just elaborate? I have searched both on this site and google and I haven't been able to find one. I'll keep on looking, but if you guys have already got one, that'll be sweet.

And your post is way to vauge... What type of rotary there were 15 different rotary engines and 20 different applications. You ask for the presidency and didn't give 1 position on 1 issue. And you didn't search here, cuase my set up was on here just a few days ago. If you go to rx7club you'd beter search before posting or you'll get banned...

It's basically the same thing. Plenty of us don't do ---- with our engine internals on a turbo setup.

Get a turbo manifold, a turbo, and some way to increase your fuel under boost.

Make sure your cooling system is up to par!
Use a decent means of engine management and of course get it properly tuned.

I'm gonna assume you probably have a 2g NA rx7 since most people that have RX7's usually have those... few key point differences is compression (9:1 compared to 8:1 in the 13bt), transmissions are weaker, rear ends are weaker, etc. IF YOU CAN GET IT, Get the turbo II rearend, driveshaft transmission engine wiring harness etc. It's a lot of work but worth it IMO, I helped my cousin swap it into his GXL (NA) RX7 and it was't terribly hard.

But if you just go straight turbo on the regular 13b (or whatever it is you may have) Megasquirt would probably be the best route for fuel management for you.

I know Microtech computers are also good for rotary applications, but do search around to find the best price/quality

From what I understand you shouldnt turbo a non turbo'd 13b, the motors are quite different. I think they have different amount of intake/exhaust ports, but dont quote me on this. My buddy has an rx7 and from what he's read he says its better off to just swap in the entire 13bt and tranny. If anyone has any info on turbo;ing a NA 13b i'm sure it would be a good thing to have posted on this site.

2nd gen N/A's are either 9.4 (86-88) or 9.7 (89-92)

ifly87, you can certainly turbo an n/a car.
