RODS for D16z6 ?
 
someone once said u can use LS rods on a d16z6 motors, how is that possible if the pin hold on the piston is about 2-3mm bigger, or are there differnet ls rods to use or something?

they need to be machined to fit..

i'm putting B20 rods into my A6 right now. they only need machined on the crank end, and you need to sleeve the piston end to get the to match up to D16A6 piston, else the wobble...and end up letting the piston slam the valves.

yes you can use the ls rods in the d-series block. the ls wrist pin is a 21mm while the d is a 19mm. id suggest you rework the crank end also.....and get the bronze bushings from crower, but thats if you can even get your hands on them. another alternative for strength down there would be VIAGRA......haha...i mean use d16a1/jdm zc rods. they are identical to the d series 1.6 and you can use the stock z6 wrist pin. they are a bit stronger in strength but not indestructable. you can also shot peen the rods but remember that they become harder but more brittle. good luck ;D
