RHB5 question ???
 

just finished cleaning the dirt and grime off the turbo, when I found this solenoid attached between the internal wastegate and the tip of the blower part of the unit...I am guessing its a boost controller but i am not too sure.

the questions are:

what is it?
do i need it?
and if it is an EBC, should I remove it and use the Home Depot controller?

Throw it away, you dont need it... run a single vacuum line from the wastegate housing to the wastegate actuator.

Yes, you can hook up your "home depot" boost controller their.
