retarding timing question
ok, just replaced my HG, and I need to retard my timing again, how much should I do it? my set up, d16z6, t25, 9psi, afc hack. I believe it was -9 b/f I took it off, but not sure..I didn't do it the first time.

I looked EVERYWHERE in my honda civic factory manual and can't find out how ot time the car with stock timing, can anyone help? then I will know how to retard it.

Don't quote me on this, but I think stock timing is 16-18 deg. I would try running 14, listen really close for ping, and dail in from there...like I said, don't quote me, I'm not positive.

what i did is got my timing gun, set the dial at 10 and timed it to that, and it runs just like it did before.

I don't like messing with the base timing, it makes the car slow off-boost, much more so than 7.x compression with the right spark timing.

10's a little on the low side, I'd bump it up to 14 and go for a drive, do a long hard pull in 3rd and listen closely for pinging, if you hear any pinging back it down a couple degrees.
