Replacing a KKK-K16 for a Garrett VVT turbo
Hi all,
Need a bit of advice here! I have a Classic Range Rover with a small KKK K16 turbo fitted to my 2.4 Diesel engine. A VM. I bought a Garrett VVT GT2052V which came from a Volvo V60 with a 2.4 engine. The actuator works from vacuum it does not have any electronics. My engine is a Mechanical Diesel so no electrics either. I have a vacuum pump on the engine feeding the brake servo. My question is do I connect up the Vacuum actuator to this pipe or do I use a Boost pressure actuator from a normal turbo? I have the actuator from a Garrett T25 and the one from my KKK. I would then fix it so that when the actuator opens at say 11 psi it will open the vanes. I have heard that if you are aiming for 15psi boost the actuator needs to start opening at around 10-11 psi is this true? Any ideas? Thanks. |
