alright common question im sure most here have done but not really talked about. How do you exactly remove the A/C? i can figure out the actual removal, but im very curious if it needs to be drained or not, and how hard is it to put back in and refill if it needs a refill. Pics on discharging it would be helpful.

 

It's illegal and dangerous to drain it yourself. Have someone qualified do it for you. The rest is nuts and bolts. Super easy to take out and put back together.

 

It is not easy to put back together because usually in the removal process the AC lines get all messed up. Mine kept turning when I turned the nuts to get them loos so I decided to cut the bastards off. No reinstallation for me. all I had were lines and teh little canister near teh wiper fluid resivoir anyways.

 

I removed mine in my 88 hatch yesterday. took about 1.5hrs by myself. Havent gotten to the evaporator in the dash but everything under the hood is out. Clear up a lot of space

 

i stuck a nail down in the pin and let the hood rest on the nail, so it held it down. i just let it go overnight. it did the trick.

over night? it takes like 2 minutes to drain it all out. ---- the enviroment and ---- your lungs, just hold that ---- down with a screwdriver :P

 

---- all that ----- ----, i cut the lines at the fire wall with a bolt cutter and then ducked. it takes 20min max to take out the rest

 

i took mine out myself but it drained when i tried filling it after i bought it :P it pissed out just as fast as it went in
