Default recommendations for big boost

pretty soon i am going to be able to get my hands on a d16 bare block. i would like to run 20-25 psi on it. what are most guys using as far as pistons and rods for this amount of boost or higher. i also had a quote for $800 for it to be sleeved and i was told it would support 45 psi. does that price sound resonable? im starting to think that maybe it would be better to just build a b-series tho, any imput?

to run that amount of boost you'll definitely need sleeves, yeah 800 bucks is avg. to get a block sleeved. you can boost around 20 psi on stock sleeves with forged internals, but it won't last too long as far as what internals, any brand really will hold up fine. some good h beam pistons (crower, eagle, scat) and some good low comp. forged pistons (je, srp, endyn, arias, probe, etc.). you're main concerns are going to be a good flowing head, big enough turbo to boost that much effeciently, and large enough injectors.

Dude, that much pressure on a D series...kinda foolish, plus youre expecting WWWAAAYYY too much outta a 4 cyl sohc d series. I dont even think the AEM drag civic runs 45 psi

i dont plan on running 45 psi, thats just what he said it could withstand. i plan on running 20-25 with it. it will be daily driven so it is going to have to be strong so im not rebuilding every six months. im kinda stuck between built d or b. i can get a d-block from a friend right now for like 70 bux, thats why im considerign that over a b, and it would be sweet to have a beast ofa d.
