Default Rebuilding an XS Power/SSAC T3?

A buddy of mine has an XS Power turbo that he ran for a little while but he had WAY to much oil in the car and it stopped up the drain line and blew the oil seals. It smoked like hellll. Im piecing together a kit right now for my 98 Prelude and Im in the process of looking for a turbo. He's willing to sell me his knock off for only $30. If I buy this turbo, can I buy a basic rebuild kit for a Garrett T3 and use it? I would also take and have the shaft balanced. I just didn't know if you could use a rebuild kit for a Garrett T3 on these. What do you guys think?

From the pics Ive seen, the SSauto center section lacks some oil passages the garrett has. If the dimensions are the same as garrett for the shaft, a genuine garrett center section and garrett rebuild may be the ticket

Nah Im white and the car is green there's some pics a few topics down, not sure if youve seen the thread. right here https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=52186.0

ive got a 10 psi speedo vid on youtube, and a couple dyno vids on streetfire, but thats it. I suppose it must be someone else. there's not a whole lot of us mx3 guys though... most guys have the BP or B6t, 1.8 and 1.6l turbo, respectibly, but not very many turbo V6's at all

Hey guys, that thread was for a friend of mine. He wrote it. He called Blaast late last night and talked to the guy for a while and decided on sending it to them I believe. They are putting a geuine Garrett shaft in it with all new Garrett bearings and seals and such. Everything will be balanced. They're doing it for 250+25 for shipping. So about $15 to ship it to them, $275 paid to Blaast, and then the original $30 for the turbo. That adds up to be $320. If it ends up being pretty much the exact same as a Garrett then $320 isn't bad at all. Brand new SSAC turbo's from their site go for that much or more and this will be like 10x's better hopefully. Doesn't make sense why it wouldn't. According to Blaast, the bad thing in the eBay turbo's is the shafts themselves. I guess they're not well balanced and not made out of good material. Makes sense why they get so much shaft play. They come out of balance and wear out the bearings? Makes sense to me anyway. Should be good with a new balanced Garrett shaft in it.
