is this a reasonable setup?
hey, I was just wondering if this setup was reasonable for my '93 civic hatch d15b7. IHI RHB5 turbo and intercooler from an 89 MX-6, MX-6 injectors (330cc i think, if i can use it use with an fmu), vortech 12:1 fmu, ssqv blow off valve, stock internal wastegate (set at 8psi) and walboro fuel pump? Any input would be greatly appreciated as this is my first turbo build. Thanks.

Re: is this a reasonable setup?
You cant use bigger injectors and fmu, if you want a turbo setup for that motor mines for sale, pm me, for some extra cash I will throw in my chipped ecu and 450's. my setup is in my sig.

Re: is this a reasonable setup?
I got all the parts for free, i was just going to piece it together and I needed to know if it would work. Thanks for the info on the injectors, I kinda thought you couldn't use both but i wasn't sure.

Re: is this a reasonable setup?
FMU's dont need injectors.
Dumb ------s use FMUs O0 |
Re: is this a reasonable setup?
That setup will work, just use your stock injectors.

Re: is this a reasonable setup?
is it really necessary to get a new fuel pump, or will the stock pump run enough consistent pressure for 7-8 psi of boost? (approx 96psi more fuel pressure than stock)

Re: is this a reasonable setup?
If you're using an fmu, you really should upgrade the fuel pump to run the increased fuel pressure.
For the cost of the fmu+fuel pump, you could almost get a chipped ecu and injectors and keep your stock pump, and be much more reliable. |
Re: is this a reasonable setup?
where is a good place to get a chipped ecu, and what type of numbers can I expect from this setup. Also, will the MX-6 injectors fit in the civic intake manifold/fuel rail?

Re: is this a reasonable setup?
Chipped ecu from www.-------------
You could probably make around 200whp with that setup on a decent tune and have it last a while |
Re: is this a reasonable setup?
Why won't you look up things? ::)
