Is this really a t25?

I was told this is a t25 from a second gen eclipse, but seeing pictures of other t25's im starting to question whether this really is a t25.

on the down pipe, it has stamped: MR18800, then in a different looking stamp 4[some symbol]d1 If you look at the exhaust turbine at down with the out side facing you it says: mitsubishi logo 89-12200, now if i flip it around and look down the compressor side at the exhaust turbine, at the base by the inlet flange it says somthing i cant read then 050, and i little to the left it says 02 or D2, cant tell.

the compressor side dosent say mutch, if i look at it from the inlet side, it says "N" on it, the wastegate controller has a mitsubishi logo on it and the bracket has a bunch of numbers on it that are probably irrelevant.

I cant find a single # on it that matches anything on this website so yeah, idk, pictures:

i figured it out from this website, and some sandblasting, this is a mitsubishi TC05-12a turbo.

I think the 12a's came on late 80s conquest and starion ... one of the smallest mitsu turbos on a 4 tired vehicle.

my ass makes more boost than that turbo.

That's a stock WRX turbo. It's a TD04HL. The automatic 1st generation DSM's came with a 13g turbocharger that's also a TDO4HL. Someone used the turbine housing from a DSM 13g and installed it on the WRX turbocharger that's also a 13g (some call it 13T). They just switched out the oddball WRx turbine housing with the easier to work with DSM flanged turbine bits.

That's definitely not a TC05-12a. I promise you that it's a stock WRX TD04HL-13g (or 13T) with a DSM TD04HL-13g turbine housing on it (5cm).

Haha. Yeah I do have an uncanny ability to remember and categorize useless facts lol. If you were looking for a T-25 then you'll find the 13g comparable. I mean it's not identical but they're both small turbos that spool extra fast and are good for low boost set-ups. They're made to be the stock turbocharger, so have to spool quick as that's really what the manufacturers are concerned about.

For a D-series build I think you'll be very happy. The TDO4HL turbos in various forms are definitely the Mitsubishi version of the Garrett T-25. Overboost either and they quickly ---- the bed. Instant power is nice though and something you won't get in a bigger snail. Sometimes the cars with small turbos feel faster anyway as they're more snappy.

I'm looking to turbo an old E30 BMW, Would this be too small for a single turbo setup on a 2.5l L6 configuration? I have another t25 coming in the mail so I might do a Twin (or brothers i guess) turbo setup.

Also, If I pull that exhaust housing off and sandblast it, you know, make it look new. What is the street value of this thing?

t25 is so tiny
