Rattle at 3000 rpm...
Hear this rattle at 3000 rpm nothing to do with load just rpm..... happens when a let off gas and passes by this poiint and once a bit lower.
Inside car sounds like its from rear exhaust Under hood sounds almost like inside the head or timing belt.. I have no timing belt cover and belt looks a little lo0ose possibly could that be a problem Or do you think its exhaust.... Couldnt be my turbo fins hitting sides could it haha JK that would suck THX guys |
Re:Rattle at 3000 rpm...
wont be timing belt..
u sed it was from the rear of the car.. yet from the front. i dont get it. could it be your new exhaust buzzing on a part of your car panel. that i would check out first, just make sure its not rubbing somewhere. |

Re:Rattle at 3000 rpm...
I'm more than willing to bet that it's exhaust. It's exhaust resonance...

Re:Rattle at 3000 rpm...
I never rode in a 88-91 honda that didn't rattle... My timing belt was loose and it had a "rattle" at about 1700rpms, but that was just the valves talking to the pistons, but it never talked loud enough to cause damage, the car still runs strong ( of course I fixed it after I reallized what it was )..

Re:Rattle at 3000 rpm...
If it is a stock exhausted car, it may be your heat shields. Get some hose clamps on it and tighten em up real good. The ones around the resonator most likely... HTH
