Ok well since i blew my engine to pieces with my turbo and had to sell it to get a new motor..... i am thinking of doing ram air. I have am making a scoop and have a kit to put on it..... I want to know has anyone done this... and how much air does it really force in... anything compared to a turbo?...... Also i understand that the faster you go the more air is getting put it..... What all will i need to controll this, Fuel wise... Will i need anytghing? i mean i do ALOT of interstate driving and i dont wanna be running lean because im getting way to much air and not enough fuel.. Also what size do you think is a good size for injectors? This is on yet another b15b7 engine.... I couldnt afford anything else... So i wanna do a N/A motor.... Does anyone know another civic with ram air... or have online resources ... cause i couldnt find any... Thanks Brian

I've heard of getting 1 psi at 60mph... :P

I rigged up one way back in the day when I was testing out different intake designs. You won't need to do anything to the fuel

at normal car speeds, there is no such thing as "ram air".

ok i totally disagree on that..... Raim air is true even if it is only pushing 1 psi in... The fact that the engine sucks in air means loss of power..... so even if you are making air ready for it to not have to suck(draw power) then that is gonna give you HP right there.... same thing with exhaust thats why people put headers and bigger pipes to relieve backpressure to gain HP. I am currently working on my scoop right now and i have the filter andbox already made..... at idle there will be no difference just like a turbo... But when you are going above x speed.... when the air is flowing as much as the engine is sucking in you will notice HP increase.... I believe this will help in top end speeds.... on the interstate and even getting on the interstate... granite this is not a stoplight bolt on i think it will work and should work if i construct it properly..... I am gonna do this i dont care if it only gives mne 5 HP... thats 5 more extra HP i can use.... Im not spending alot of money on it so it wont matter.... Please comment on this if you dissagree or agree or whatever i just want some more feed back... Tell me why yout hink or wont think it will work

why don't you get one of those electric turbos? lol, just boost again & use better fuel management this time & don't boost over 6 psi. there's a guy i know that has a 00' civic
4 door with a single cam vtec 1.6 & he blew his engine cause
he didn't have any fuel management at all the first time he boosted. now he has je pistons, eagle rods, afc, bigger injectors & he's afraid to boost past 6 psi. i hope everything goes ok when i boost my engine. i'm only gonna use an fmu & 12:1 disc for management.

cowl induction hoods on carb'd cars is the only thing close to "ram air". cause the air does hit the windshield and is forced directly into the cowl in the hood, then into the air filter then into the carb. that is a fact :)

until you take senior level college fluids classes this will not make any sense.

"ram air" is good for getting colder air and thats it.

Well, the idea is to make more power right? It's been proven to make more power, and that's the goal here. Turbo the car again and do it right this time.
