Quick shots of my new setup
well, i sold most of my old ---- to build up the motor, so it took a little while to get back to being boosted again.Im using a 60 trim, 60/48 t3, a manifold i made, customcoach ic, ic piping from exhaust ---- i got from meineke's dumpster, dsm 450s, smc500, and an adjustable fmu (as soon as it stops snowing)
heres the manifold i made, this was just a test fit http://www.newbieforces.com/files/manifold1.jpg engine bay shot (yes i know there is no bov, a 1st gen will be there whenever my friend gives it to me) http://www.newbieforces.com/files/new2.jpg mounting the customcoach ic (one bracket broke off) http://www.newbieforces.com/files/newsetup.jpg front shot in the snow http://www.newbieforces.com/files/new4.jpg |
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
Looks damn good from here. How much traction do you get in the snow? ???
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
drag radials+snow=me on the side of the road, its happened b4. i dont get any traction when its dry either, maybe when it gets warm out. anyone know why i cant post newbieforces pics without doing it with a link? what am i doing wrong?

Re:Quick shots of my new setup
Looks good GT!Is that mani. mig welded or arch welded?
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
i dont know what you would really call it...mig minus gas (too lazy/poor to get the tank filled), i use a wire-feeder lincoln with flux-cored wire

Re:Quick shots of my new setup
Looks nice. I hate FCAW but if the manifold stays together and doesn't leak, great. How well does the bottom join up to the turbo flange??? IE do you have any shots of the manifold while it was off?

Re:Quick shots of my new setup
no shots of it prior to install, but what do you mean by how well it joins up, the welds? or how the pipes all come together?
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
very nice
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
Lookin good bro. What kind of exhaust you running?
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
ummm, a pipe just long enough to fit two o2 sensors in ;)...for now, one day ill make more
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
if you dont mind me asking, how much was this setup
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
cool.
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
umm, off the top of my head:
450s=50 smc500=125 turbo=290 flanges=50? piping for manifold=about 40 couplers=20? intercooler=250 oil lines=like 20 bucks (it was a while ago) that equals 845...add in little fittings, gauges, welding wire, cutoff wheels, etc. it wasnt like i spent that all at once either, i had some of this crap from previous setups |
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
so most meinekes have goodies like that in their dumpster eh? :o
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
I'm going to have to start raiding exhaust shop dumpsters.
|
Re:Quick shots of my new setup
yea, but it takes a lot of trips to get alot of the good ----(new piping they just messed up on). i have a piping graveyard along side my garage, the insurance company said it was a hazard for some reason ??? ::)

Re:Quick shots of my new setup
what's up with so many people running the turbo facing backwards so it's so far forward? it's made to go the other way! Setup looks good, though.
Good luck. |
