Quick help! Lubricate turbo.

I know when you are starting your car the first time after putting a new turbo on you take the sparkplugs out and crank it for a few cranks. What about just taking off the wires? Wouldnt this work?

I need to go have an 02 bung welded in is it okay to drive it to the shop without the o2 sensor hooked up? I wouldnt see why not but I dont know. Does hondata use the 02 as a vital part of the running of the motor or will it be okay fo the 25mile drive?

Please help quick.

Thanks

Nick

i never worried about priming the turbo, but others do. I wouldnt worry about o2.

You do not have to remove the plugs as per say, You want the oil pump to circulate oil through the lines w/o running the engine. I hope I remember to do that on the initial startup, I always forget the little things like that. :S

Just fire up the car while holding the compressor wheel from turning for 30-45 seconds while it builds pressure up.

I sure hope your car doesn't take 30-45 seconds to build oil pressure.

You don't need to prime the turbo, just turn your car on and a few seconds later your pressure will be up.

If you're that worried, just squirt some oil in the oil inlet.

My turbo doesn't even spin at idle. Even if it did, who cares.

It barely spins if at all when idling. It will not cut your finger off.

Not until it starts to get some exhaust flow going.Alot of turbos dont spin at all when idling. The directions i listed are as per on the box the turbo came in.Most people dont bother as it probably isnt needed but I just do it anyways.
