Quick BOV Question.........

What would the best (and loudest ) BOV to use on a system running only 5 to 6psi?

Thank you :)

Re:Quick BOV Question.........

well on 5-6 psi it's not gonna be that loud. 1'st gen DSM bov's are good and cheap, not to to loud. HKS super ss, greddy type S, blitz.... the list goes on

Thank you for the quick response :)

I could see the DSM working...
But arent the 'Aftermarket' ones set at a MINIMUM pressure to release? :(

Not that bov doesn't open under 5psi........just get a Greddy type s and take out the smaller spring. Mine opens at 0 :P.

Re:Quick BOV Question.........

the hks has 2 valves in it one for high and low pressure so hks claims it will open even with low boost but i'm not 2 shure thats waht they say

Re:Quick BOV Question.........

The HKS is also easly adjustable, it works fine on low boost.

No none of them will work you. You are different from anyone else. You have to build your own out of a peice of one pencil, one Pez candy and a set of nail clippers. Good luck.

i have the OG Blitz, and it only flutters under 5psi.

it has a nice whooosh sound to it. IMO i don't like the SSQV, it sounds like a really loud queef/ whistle.

Re:Quick BOV Question.........

I've got the SSQV on 10 lbs right now and brand new out of the box I had some serious compressor surge no matter how I adjusted it. The spring came from factory too tight and was closing much too soon. I ended up having to disassemble it (pain in the ass, theres like 12 allen head screws), removing the spring, streaching it to weaken it and then cutting it shorter. After trial and error i managed to reduce the compressor surge to a minimum, although the HMT-NE crew can probably attest that I've still got a little. I don't feel it's enough to harm the turbo though. Oh yeah, this is all on a B18B running T3/T4E... if that makes a difference :P
