I personally think nothing would be better than block posts. Its just my opinion but the laws of physics state that pressure is a force exerted over an area. And when you concentrate pressure onto a small area, pressure is than increased exponentially. I think a well made block guard that doesn't block the coolant passages to the head is the best way to go.
Somebody answer this question: Who on this site is currently running block posts and has had sucess with them for an extended period of time? I don't think anybody has block posts in their motor right now, the only person who I know of was Jeff and he ended up with cracked sleeves.
Again this is just my opinion. Sleeves are the best, block guards are good (not a $40.00 one off of Ebay, you know your buying a piece of ---- that will cause problems)
I personally would use block filler before I used posts

I've had block posts for a little while now. I dont have that many miles on the motor though since i go to school and leave my car sitting in the dorm parking lot most of the time. Jeff's sleeves cracked in between them, something the posts can help really. Also, it was a b20, which has shitty sleeves anyway. I like the idea of a blockguard only if its welded in and then the block gets bored. Just pounding one in there cant do any good imo.
