question on intercooler piping

i have access to some 3.25 inch couplers and piping to match that. would that be too big for intercooler piping? This piping and couplers that i have access to is made for turbocharging. :-X let me know what you think. Thanks

no more like 250 on a almost stock d. I can get this ---- for free. I just need to know if itd be too overpowering and effect anything negativly.

Get it, sell it, and get the proper size.

Not if it's 3.25". Still, get and sell. Then get radiator hosing for the pipes.

Re: question on intercooler piping

Yea it's overkill. You don't need anything bigger than 2.5". Plenty of people run dinky 2" and don't have problems either.

will it decrease my powerban?

Re: question on intercooler piping

Throttle response will be horrible with 3.25. (Thats alot of pipe to pressurize)

I've seen 250 made on 2" pretty easily.

nice thing about 2" tubing is that home depot couplers are easy to find (or radiator hose or whatever)

I decided to go exotic (2.25") to give a little more breating capacity, without being too much space to fill, but I had hard time finding couplers, finally I had to buy fancy expensive couplers to fit everything, so much the cheap setup... >:(

Next one will be 2"...

May as well just weld a bunch of coffee cans together and use that for intercooler piping.

Ya that's way to huge. find some 2.5" for cheap.

I'm getting all mine mandrel bent for 72 bucks cad. Just buying a 4 pieces of 180 deg bent ss pipiing from an exhaust shop here in town. Cut it to the proper angle and weld away.
